THAT'S WHAT I HEARD , AND ~

RUMORS - 12/17/09

" Mich and her Liss "

4. I've been told that there are major changes in store for ECW in 2010. I don't want to report to much right now but I've heard that the 'ECW' letters may be gone. WWE and ScyFy have had meetings in recent weeks. WWE would keep the timeslot but a major re-branding is in the works according to one source I spoke with today. More shortly.

3. According to a source, WWE has "given up" on pushing Jack Swagger as he has not quite panned out as officials had initially hoped. When he first showed up on the WWE scene, "The All-American American" was pegged as the future of the company due to his tremendous size. Nowadays, he's considered a comedy figure ranked slightly lower than Chavo Guerrero on the RAW pecking order. Furthermore, some feel he's in danger of becoming "this year's Chris Masters."

2. As seen on iMPACT!, TNA President Dixie Carter essentially said during her speech at the top of the hour that anyone who wasn't on board with her recent changes to TNA should find work elsewhere. As it turns out,  5 wrestlers had asked for their releases from the company in recent weeks including Frankie Kazarian (a.k.a. Suicide) & Homicide — we don't have the names of the three other wrestlers. All five were turned down. AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels stepped in for Kaz and calmed the situation down.

TNA President Dixie Carter in an interview with Mike Tenay, announcing that a new show entitled "TNA Epics," will launch on Spike TV this January. Additionally, Carter confirmed that TNA will be debuting another show as well, but that has yet to be titled. Carter said, "We are also working on another show, as well. But as far as coming up with a second show to compete with Impact."

1. Regarding Sheamus and Drew McIntyre, they're respective pushes come as a result of Triple H and Shawn Michaels' endorsement of the two. In the case of The Celtic Warrior, he is Triple H's workout partner and feels he has tons of potential. Likewise, McIntyre is well liked by Triple H as well as Shawn Michaels, with both getting behind him because he is tall with a good physique.

Onto this week's Bonus Rumor

The BONUS RUMOR :

Two new Lucha Libre-themed restaurants located in New York City have been reviewed by New York Magazine - Cascabel and La Lucha. Both establishments are being praised for their reviews. They focus on a mix of authentic Mexican food and a "near-obsessive" collection of Mexican wrestling memorabilia. Cascabel is described as having, "floor-to-ceiling lucha-libre posters, luchador toys and figurines galore, and affiliated knickknacks of every sort. Vintage lucha-libre films are projected against a wall. Even the friendly waitress pops up at your table from time to time wearing a luchador mask. The whole trippy affair brings to mind a goofy teenage fan’s bedroom, crossed with the type of apartment TV cops burst into only to discover a photo montage of the serial killer’s latest victim."
